Tuition Fees and Pricing
Every child we teach has a different timetable, curriculum and set of goals, so we set tuition fees for each child rather than publish a single price list. This page explains what affects the fee, how we prepare your quote and what is included. The first step is always a free consultation, with no obligation.
What your fee depends on
When we prepare a quote, we look at the following:
- Your child’s age and grade or year. Lessons for a young primary pupil are planned differently from lessons for a student in their final exam year.
- The curriculum. We teach Kenyan curricula, such as CBC/CBE, KPSEA, KJSEA and KCSE, and international curricula, such as Cambridge IGCSE, Pearson Edexcel, A-Levels, IB, the American curriculum and SAT, Cambridge Primary and Checkpoint, and Common Entrance. Each needs a tutor with the right experience. You can read more on our curricula page.
- The subjects, and how many. One subject or several, and whether they need tutors with different specialisms.
- The level. Exam years, A-Level, and IB Higher Level courses need tutors who teach at that level regularly.
- The lesson format. One-on-one lessons at your home anywhere in Nairobi, at our centre at Daphton Court on Riverside Drive, or online.
- Lesson length and frequency. How long each lesson is and how many lessons your child has each week.
- Travel for home lessons. For lessons at home, the location in Nairobi is part of the quote.
- Science lab practical sessions. Practical sessions in our on-site lab for Biology, Chemistry and Physics, if your child needs them.
- Intensive programmes. Focused exam preparation before major exams, and holiday programmes.
How the process works
- Free consultation. Contact us by phone, WhatsApp or our contact form. We talk with you about your child, their school and what you would like to achieve.
- We understand your child’s needs. We ask about the curriculum, subjects, recent reports, the areas of concern and your preferred schedule and format.
- Written quote. We send you a written quote that sets out the lessons we recommend and the fee.
- We match a tutor. We choose a vetted, experienced tutor who knows your child’s exact syllabus and level.
- Lessons start. Your child begins lessons at home, at the centre or online.
You can change the number of lessons later. Many families increase lessons before exams and reduce them afterwards. Tell us, and we will update the arrangement and the quote.
What is included
- Tutor matching: we match each child with a tutor for their exact curriculum, syllabus and level.
- Lesson planning: the tutor plans lessons around your child’s gaps, goals and exam dates.
- Progress reports: we send parents written progress reports and report cards, so you can see what your child has covered and how they are doing.
- Ongoing contact: you can speak to us at any time about your child’s progress or about changes to the schedule.

Why we do not publish one price
A single price would be simple, but it would not be accurate for most families. A weekly online lesson in one primary subject and several home lessons a week across A-Level sciences are very different arrangements. If we published one figure, many parents would see a number that does not apply to them.
We prefer to listen first, then give you a clear written quote for what your child actually needs. There is no charge for the consultation and no obligation to go ahead.
Frequently asked questions
Is the consultation really free?
Yes. The consultation is free and there is no obligation. It helps us understand your child, and it helps you decide whether our tutoring is right for your family.
Can you quote for more than one child?
Yes. If you have several children who need tutoring, we can prepare one quote that covers all of them together.
Can we change the number of lessons later?
Yes. You can increase or reduce lessons as your child’s needs change, for example before exams or during the holidays. We will confirm any change in writing.
How do we pay?
We explain payment options in your quote.
Do you charge for the science lab?
Practical sessions in the lab are planned and quoted for as part of your child’s programme where they need them. We explain this clearly in your quote, so there are no surprises.
